      I've been a strong proponent for years that females should be proficient with firearms.  Of course, I grew up with firearms on a farm in Green Oaks, way long before the citiots moved in and ruined the area with their tract home "country living" subdivisions.  Bottom line.  In my family, mom was just as good a shot as dad.

      The past few weeks, I've been persuading the milder mannered half to get her CPL.  It's finally sinking in that when seconds matter, the police are only minutes away.
