    I seriously doubt it.... (none / 0) (#2)

You think that O'Brien, being overruled by Judge Markey in one opinion 3 years ago, is what is motivating her to proceed right now?  Like it is such a striking rebuke to once have been overruled that Judge O'Brien must have been burning up since 2009?  Yeah, I seriously doubt it.

Quite frankly, I think neither of these women has a sense of animosity or ill-will toward the other.  I don't think that either is seeking the nomination as a result of some personal vengeance.  This whole article is pretty ridiculous.  O'Brien has been overruled from time to time by the Court of Appeals; Markey has been overruled from time to time by the Supreme Court. If either woman is seeking to become a Supreme Court Justice to vindicate that, then she doesn't deserve to be on the Court.  But my bet is that neither woman is; I think either Judge Markey or Judge O'Brien believes that she would be an asset to the Court--a Rule of Law replacement to Justice Marilyn Kelly, who is perhaps the living embodiment of the antithesis of a rule of law judge.
