Verrilli is an excellent lawyer (you don't get to be Solicitor General unless you 've got something on the ball) and the Court respects him.

Sorry, but that sure sounds a whole lot like a professional courtesy line crap to me along the similar lines of TurboTax Geithner.  He got where he's at 'cause he had something on the ball too.  It's called connections, and attorneys chumming around country clubs with judges sure as hell are not immune from that kind of "respect" either.

If Verrilli was worth a damn he'd choose to not be just another part of the problem at a minimum, at best, he'd show some "self-respect" by telling his "constitutional lawyer" boss Barry Oweblamebush Downgrade to shove his cases load up his ass and handle them himself.

Perhaps it's just not a good day to be touting the piety of legalese merchants in Michigan.
