    the point is that we really do not know which federal judge will be assigned the case. I guess I failed to illustrate the point that the linked article about Kansas City P.S. made. The State of Kansas had to come up with huge amounts of money to "fix" Kansas City Public Schools. That went on for several years. I do not understand why a federal judge might not respond in the same manner in the case of Detroit and impose costs on State taxpayers. Federal judges are appointed by politicians afterall and there is no guarantee, I believe, that a judge sympathetic to the overall State populace would wind up with the case.

    I meant you no disrespect and was not trying to denigrate your valid points. I had previously resolved not to post here anymore, but your point about federal judges made me do it.
