    . . . also independently researched Allard's background, and I'm told that they discovered multiple discrepancies between his stated issue positions and his interview statements.  I referred to the NPV as a deal-breaker specifically to poke a thumb in the eye of a local state committee member and tea party leader, who is a vocal opponent of the NPV, but somehow still sees fit to support Allard.

    Schmidt's a democrat as far as I'm concerned. It's no different than Allen Carlson in neighboring Hamburg Twp who ran as a Republican after he was appointed. Carlson can't win as a D. Schmidt would have a hard time winning as a D.

    Too bad Bing Goei didn't win the write in. I'd either go Mohr or for "Blank" here because there's no republican running.
