Most political action committees in Michigan need to register with the state.  Michigan Citizens United has registered with the state.  I checked the state database for Michigan Citizens United and found some information on them.  (I'll post links and references to verify my findings at the end of my article.  No need for you to wade through all my evidence up front, just to read my findings.)

Gail P. Schmidt is listed as the treasurer of Michigan Citizens United PAC (1). Gail P. Schmidt is a field assistant on the 12-D coordinating council of the Michigan Education Association (MEA) and also services a unit in 12-CE.(2). Another resource has her listed as an administrative assistant for the Michigan Education Association(3).

This gives us a window in to who or what is behind the recall of Michigan governor Rick Snyder and the Michigan Citizens United PAC.  It's safe to assert there is a link between Michigan Citizens United PAC and someone working with the Michigan Education Association (MEA).
