Gottdamned shame.  In different times, folks like Bing, and the enablers in Lansing would be tarred, feathered and ran out of town on a rail for knowingly aiding declared threats to our nations security.

"I am going to do what is right for the entire community," Detroit Mayor Dave Bing said at a news conference about the Whole Foods store near its proposed location at Mack and John R. "I am not working for an individual or a corporation."

Funding HAMAS is not right, Bing.

But George Jackson, president and CEO of the Detroit Economic Growth Corp., said some independent grocers are located in commercial projects that likely received some tax incentives.

"We offer no apologies to meet the needs of our citizens," Jackson said. "Detroiters have the same right to shop in a national grocer just like people in other cities."

George, ya sleazy bastard, you do not have a "right" to use my share of the $4.7 million in taxes to subsidize your cesspool city that drives away business from the entire state.  You especially don't have a "right" to use my taxes to give to an out-of-state business that knowingly funds terrorists whose only objective in Detroit is whoring for quick tax dollars.

City officials and community leaders praised Whole Foods' move at the news conference, which was full of supporters who applauded when Whole Foods' Michigan executive operations coordinator Red Elk Banks was introduced.

"This is a real pleasure," said Bing, who praised the community and political effort to bring the grocer to the inner city.
