      I've spoken to friends in the Fitzgerald, East Detroit, Roseville and family in Lake Shore districts.

      I can't tell you how many times their children have told them about the teachers having to spend more and more time dealing with the unruly and disruptive "new students" (Yes, plural) in their classroom.

      Yes, I know that open districts is now the new cause du jour for fixing schools.

      My response to that argument is what about the students who are there to learn and don't cause problems? Why should those children's education be negatively affected because those districts are among those now used as a dumping ground for DPS's failure?
