I "prolly" should leave you to your bitter lamenting and get back to my sad little volunteering. However, there definitely are some issues to be addressed.
It would be interesting to see what it is you think I am doing here? Am I not allowed to ask questions of those running for the Board of Education in the district where my children attend?
Secondly, I did look at all of the names you compiled in the name of nepotism. The reason I asked about the Johnsons was to point out how ridiculous your accusations were. (Maybe that's what you found so comical?).
As a matter of fact, because I am an involved parent, I do know that a particular set of names you posted are, indeed, married. (So your speculation has indeed uncovered this "secret"). This is why I can speak with a bit more knowledge than just reading information off a website. I can put names to faces. I can also tell you how these people have affected the lives of my children.
Since you are not a parent, nor, I assume, someone who has spent any time inside a school, I can see where you would consider that schools should be run as businesses. Goodness knows, teaching children can't be any different than, say, building cars?
I can also see your side, that your hard earned money is being used in such a frivolous fashion as to educate other people's "little darlings". I am sure, based on reading and watching T.V., you are an expert at what goes on inside a classroom on any given day. (I notice that you did not answer my question about what a Paraprofessional is.)
You are right, the "threat" to our schools isn't your concern. (And I never mentioned the collective bargaining or teacher's paying more for insurance, so you are the one making assumptions about my being a union supporter). The threat I was referring to is the $470 loss per student. When students will no longer have the resources (updated books, computers, access to new technology) that will make them truly competitive in a global economy. This loss won't hurt you. Until families start moving out of Michigan. Until teachers move out of Michigan. When there are even more empty schools and houses, dragging down your property value. Or maybe you don't truly care about Michigan?
