      I haven't followed this story at all, so I cannot render an educated opinion on the law as a whole*, but I do know from just reading this that including university employees within the scope of a law violates Article 8 Sec. 5 and Article 8 Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution. These articles state that the boards at public universities "... shall have general supervision of its institution and the control and direction of all expenditures from the institution's fund."

      *My immediate reaction was to wonder why we would we do this, but as I say, I did not follow the debate surrounding this law.
