      First of all, the quote you are referring to was based on projected job losses that didn't materialize. Michigan had lost what was estimated at 870000 jobs from 2000-2009, with 632000 or so from 2002-2009 (these are estimates that are adjusted over time as more data is collected). Projections for 2010 had the number of job losses between 2000 and 2010 exceeding 1000000 jobs lost. However, these projections proved to be inaccurate.
