Archie, you're dead wrong on the rest of the field being lightweights.  While they may not have the name recognition and/or fundraising horsepower of Hoekstra and Durant, fully half of them would be formidable contenders should they secure the necessary signatures to qualify for the primary ballot.

I will, however, cede the point that whosoever should secure the republican nomination will then have to go up against Debbie's campaign warchest that is (as of the October FEC filing) at least $6 million . . . and growing.

I was able to secure commitments from Boman, Durant, Glenn, Hekman, and Konetchy to sit for an interview for RightMichigan.  I'm in contact with Hoekstra's campaign team to accomplish the same.
