With regards to conversion vs. primary ouster, Linda makes the same point that all of my interviewees have made.  The primaries exist for a reason, and that's where our efforts should be focused when it comes to pink-slipping the softies on our side of the political aisle.  While they're actually in office, "paper training" our elected officials is usually the best route to go.  (According to the Mackinac Center, that can actually be kinda addictive.)
