      ...is take a look at the people that the fine citizens of Detroit elect to oversee their children's education year after year. So many people act like these school board members just fell out of the sky to rule over DPS. The fact is that Detroit parents have asked that their school district be run this way.

      And now you want to inject this same stupidity and ignorance into the suburbs? I don't doubt that some Detroit kids would be helped by their new surroundings, but a lot of suburban kids would end up hurt by it.

      I don't see any private corporation (i.e. charter school or private school) wanting to invest their dollars within the boundaries of Detroit. There is far too much risk and cost associated with running a business in Detroit these days.

      Instead, they will set up shop in the suburbs and lure the Detroit residents in.
