    I agree with Scales on this subject.  No not every Detroit parent acts like the video.  However, do a little home work. There is a large majority of children in the DPS that are in single family homes or being raised by a grandparent or a relative, many on very low incomes and many on assistance.  There is no personal accountability, not only in Detroit, in every city in the USA.  When people start taking responsibility for their own actions instead of depending on others you will change the culture of entitlement and instill a self worth. It's very simple.  

    But liberals love the poor people.  Keep them poor and dependent on as much assistance to get their vote to give them more freebies and more assistance.  If that is what you call living the American dream then go for it.  What Detroit got out of it is the DPS.  So stop the crying.  You got what you wanted and voted for.  Live with it or change it.  Just don't ask taxpayers for any more money to change it. Michigan is broke.  There is no more money For DPS or any other school system in this state.  The gig is up.
