      I don't think all that should even matter. If he were a Republican, his financing was transparent and he would usually do a fine job, it is wrong for a candidate to hold on like this. At best, it shows a deep rooted selfish streak.

      These public service positions aren't about a personal win, power and prestige. It's about taking an oath to uphold the law and promote the will of the people. When it's clear that staying in can only cause a spoiler (Ross Perot) situation, someone needs to exit. That Wilson doesn't makes it appear that he's in this for the sole purpose of being a spoiler.

      I remember what happened in the last primary: No one would bow out and none of them won. Mr. Wilson needs to take a bow.
