I was also proud of our state when proposal A passed. That was a great day for Michigan and for our country.

In the past when people proposed laws that would favor race, no one would want to stand up, I should say not enough people wanted to stand up, and be the person who was against black people or minorities, and be labeled a racist. Today we must let people know that we are not afraid of being called a racist anymore, because we know that we are not.

It is interesting that whenever black Americans put their minds to something, they are usually successful. Whether it's the 761st Tank battalion, the civil rights movement, sports, and even racial intimidation; they get the job done.
