    I am unaware of Rep. Conyers' position on the state initiative, and will have to do some digging to confirm.  However, according to the latest information from Americans For Fair Taxation, of Michigan's Congressional Delegation, only Pete Hoekstra and Candice Miller have publicly come out in support of the national initiative.  Not surprisingly, the Levin brothers, as well as Mark Schauer and Bart Stupak, publicly oppose fair taxation.

    Note that the "does not support" column is another way of saying "has not taken a public position" on the issue.  In other words, the ten representatives and Senator Stabusnow aren't saying one way or the other what their opinion or position is on the National FairTax Initiative.

    Congressman Hoekstra hasn't given me a direct answer yet, but I believe that his support for the national initiative is so far translating into "leaning in favor" of the state proposal.
