    I was at the convention in 2006 and don't recall a lot of competition.  Mostly because the candidates were incumbents.  But I think the August convention will be a good time for the base to get together, meet the gubernatorial candidate's pick for Lt. Governor and along with having that obligatory "rah rah" rally that will get Michigan pumped up for our candidate, this convention will also be an awesome time to share ideas and try to mend any differences that may have occurred as a result of the races for SoS, AG and especially for Governor.
