My take on this, is maybe political correctness is just really over rated. And people really don't want it, I say this because, It seems like Detroit wants to keep electing racist democrats, it could just be what they like.

This Cobo issue, did not have to have an ounce of race injected into it. Monica Conyers could have said something like. I don't support Cobo, because I think GM might go into bankrupcy, and not be around much longer, or 200 other reasons, but to make race the reason. Might be, what Detroit voters like and expect out of their politicians.

Could the GOP run more politically correct candidates and win in Detroit???

Who knows, it might not work, maybe only want racist democrats in Detroit. You don't see Republicans ever running down there.
It seems to work good for them, the Democrats win every time. who knows, it could be a growing trend, maybe soon, everyone will want racist democrats to run their city, too.
