      Remember when DeVos was clearly ahead in the polls. During a debate, on the abortion issue, he said  "No exception even for victims of rape or incest".

      It seemed like that was the turning point where Granholm pulled ahead, In the polls.

      I think that for the most part people are pro-life and would like to see abortion numbers going down, but, the "No Exception for rape victims" must have a little too extreme for most people.  

       If my wife was raped, I would not want to be reminded of the crime daily, and have to care for, and play daddy for the rapist's kid. I suppose the right thing to do would be give the kid up for adoption, but??? It is just a real heavy topic.
