      This entire effort is sad on all sides.  The idea that a local community is battling for the "business" of keeping a prison open is sad.  That some local residents believe keeping unconvicted "jihadists" in Standish is a grave danger (for uncertain reasons) is likewise sad.  The entire concept of creating something like an "enemy combatant" so we can pick and choose from the military and criminal justice systems to keep them locked up and do with them as we will is both sad and corrosive. (We are not at "war" with any recognizable enemy that has formal leadership, nationality, or sovereignty, so how will we even know when we've "won?")
      One of the few valid points above is that the prison guards currently working at Standish will still be out of a job even if the Muhammads come to Standish.  (BTW, the last I heard Barry's administration wasn't interested in Standish anyway).
