    You'd think by now that Detroit, the liberal Mecca of Michigan, would serve as a strong warning to the rest of the state, even the whole of the USA.  If anywhere in Michigan there is a testbed for liberal policies and governance, it's Detroit.  And how's that working out for them?  Not so good... That it's even possible for a CITY to have a 300 million dollar deficit is mind-boggling.  Even more so when you realize that Detroit is already subsidized by the rest of the state.  Not to even mention the Detroit public schools, which have also been mentioned recently.

    Think we could just offer to give the greater-Detroit area to Canada?  Make it it's own little depressing liberal state?  The People's republic of Detroit?  Something's gotta give; it's dragging down the whole state.
