    The majority of the state's tax base is in SE Michigan. I read recently that Novi's tax base is larger than 60 of the 83 counties in the state and Novi doesn't even have the largest city taxbase in Oakland County. Novi taxpayers are subsidizing schools all over the state, including those on the west side.
