    Reagan was not arrogant or stupid enough to spread Democracy via the sword.  Instead, Reagan chose to make America a shining city on a hill, a beacon of Democracy, beckoning to other nations around the world to choose Democracy.

    By contrast, George W. Bush was arrogant and stupid enough to believe he could spread Democracy throughout the world via the sword and engage in nation building.  Bush was never given that mandate by the American people and consequently the GOP is paying the price for Bush's arrogance and stupidity.
