    When there is a ballot issue that is clearly liberal or conservative, the people have shown that the trend toward conservative (the stem cell proposal was very muddled in message so that does not serve as a good gauge).

    Republicans dont win by trying to be everything to everybody.  Reagan didnt campaign on that, Bush 41 didnt campaign on that, Bush 43 didnt campaign on that twice, and they all won when they campaigned as conservatives.  Throw in 1994 Republicans again to prove the point.  But, when we try to be the big spending party in order to make everyone happy, we lose big.

    Milliken has been the media poster child for what the a republican in their eyes should be.  But that is not what is best for this state or this country.
