Sure. Why Not?

Conservatives may have a choice in the 11th Congressional district after all.

Kerry_BentivolioNothing says I love you like “I’m not going anywhere, thank you very much.”

David Trott has a few extra bucks lying around I am sure.  The foreclosure king’s self funded primary netted him a win over under-financed Kerry Bentivolio in the August primary.  But what the heck, Kerry still has signs, and is an incumbent congressman.  Its not a stretch to say that he COULD pull off a write in win, if people can learn how to spell B-E-N-T-I-V-O-L-I-O in time for the general election.

MLIVE is reporting:

He told MIRS on Monday that he and his family will write in his name on the ballot in November and that he is still considering filing for an official write-in campaign.

Write-in candidates in Michigan have until Oct. 21 to file declaration of intent forms for the November election.

“I’m trying to decide whether to send my opponent a congratulations or receipt for the purchase of the 11th Congressional District,” Bentivolio told MIRS.

This guy is OK in my book.

What the Hell has he got to lose if he chooses to run as a write-in? There is nothing that can be said about him that the press, or the sleazy bastards who put their monies in the pot (yes, DeVos and their fruitfly too) to buy off that seat they all haven't said already. Remember the players?

So, what's a term limited-out Mike Bishop to do? Breath life into his old role with trying to stay relevant in SE Michigan playing straw boss of Dave Trott's ringleaders.

Trott also announced four campaign co-chairs: Former Michigan State Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop, Wayne County Commissioner Laura Cox, former congressional candidate Rocky Raczkowski, and Ronna (Look at ME!) Romney (Look at ME!) McDaniel.

Matter of fact, a few weeks ahead of polls opening how the Hell hard would it be to train the booger eatin' herd to spell his name with a catchy old jingle?

    "Uh-oh, B-E-N-T-I-V-O-L-I-O"

I love it! Lot can be done with tinkering with that SpaghettiOs jingle that'd stick in folks heads.

Go for it Kerry! The GOP Establishment Machine put up Nancy Cassis as a Write-In against him when he first ran for the U.S. Congress. And, then convinced David Trott to run against the incumbent Republican Bentivolio.
Trott is nothing but a puppet for the RNC and the GOP Establishment Machine and their power hungry Special Interests!

    Holy ethical dilemma, Batman!

Yesterday I was in range of 'JR and caught an interview with "Magic Frank" Beckmann with Cong. B-E-N-T-I-V-O-L-I-O regarding this.

A copy of that interview can be found here:

    http://p.cmlsdet.com/player/?feed=50&id=11204

Sadly, even though Cong. B-E-N-T-I-V-O-L-I-O didn't come flat out and say that he was officially running, Beckmann kept up with an insulting "you sound like a bitter man" and "you can't win" meme throughout the interview.

What was even more disappointing was that they clipped the part after the interview with the majority of callers expressing support for Cong. B-E-N-T-I-V-O-L-I-O and disgust with the actions of the republican kakistocracy (in the race and in state and national matters...something Beckmann feigned ignorance knowing about).

To be fair, Beckmann did acknowledge the support of callers at the beginning of a follow-up interview with Foreclosure King David Trott this morning. Interview below:

    http://p.cmlsdet.com/player/?feed=50&id=11237

What caught my ear this am was the claim by Trott that there wasn't any goading by others for him to run (go to the 3:43 mark in Trott's interview)

Trott claimed that Cong. B-E-N-T-I-V-O-L-I-O wasn't in the district enough.

But given the fact that Trott has acknowledged that there isn't really any difference between Cong. B-E-N-T-I-V-O-L-I-O's position and his own, to say nothing about his level of constituent services and awards he has been awarded, Trott's argument is on very shaky ground.

So what does this all have to do with the "ethical dilemma"

Running write-in campaigns is nothing new.

    Remember this?

To be honest, I'm a little turned off by the idea.

It really shouldn't have to come to that.

But neither should a challenger been thrown into the mix and zero support offered by the party for a sitting candidate who has not done anything to belittle or demean the office that he serves in.

It should be noted that the in campaign I mentioned...she won her race for re-election.

Something to strongly consider here in Michigan.

I gotta tell you, I'm a tad torn on this one.

I personally despise "sore loser" campaigns, regardless of whom the sore loser is. If you couldn't win in the primary, then gracefully embrace the suck, man. End of discussion. Indiana actually has a "sore loser law" on the books, which is what kept Dick Lugar from "pulling a Murkowski"© after Richard Mourdock cleaned his clock in the primary.

That said, I'm also a big fan of the "turnabout is fair play" proverb. Given that the establishment bluebloods just wouldn't let it go when K -E - R - R - Y __ B - E- N - T - I -V - O - L - I - O turned out to be the only republican actually qualified for the ballot after the dust settled in May of 2012, I figure that hoisting them on their own petard is only fair.

32 days to sort through his options.

Spoke with Kerry yesterday morning and encouraged him to go for it, he sounded upbeat, and gave me a brief synopsis of his campaign based on his record...He had a radio interview yesterday downstate, so I hope he launched...Now if we can get Greg to do the same...

I also suggested business cards to him...easy to distribute, cheap...and have the correct spelling...folks can take them to the polls...

    Kerry's 'short list' resume'...

Rated #1 in Transparency: Trott's ad depicted him as a factory
    worker-misleading
Passed 3 bills- Trott said I was ineffective - a lie (My bills had
    100% bi partisan support)
Voted to hold Learner in Contempt in Committee and spoke on floor of congress...
Served in 2 wars, the only member of congress who served in Both
Vietnam and Iraq... Trott did not serve. He kicked people out of
    homes while I protected them.
The local GOP entitled establishment club DID NOTHING to improve our
    services except sabotage my term!
Is the only way a regular guy can get elected is by accident?
I just won the Taxpayer friendly award from the National Taxpayer Union.
Won Chamber award through achievement, 95% rating and gave it back for
their support of Amnesty, Trott bought the endorsement and lies about
his support of amnesty. If he did not then he should reject the
    endorsement..
Rated top conservative and maintain a top 30% rating for ability to
    work with other side.
Trott has no history or record of community service. I served,
teacher, part-time Santa and reindeer rancher. He kicks people out of
    their home for Christmas.
I tried to unite the party, he divided them. All so he can be called
    Congressman instead of Foreclosure Attorney.
Sour grapes? I'm not the only one.
