An Opportunity Mr Richardville..By JGillman, Section News
Its time you cut loose from your organized labor influences.
Its not the teachers that are our enemies. Its not the firemen, the police, or the trade workers. Its none of those people who are concerned about their jobs, and how the current anti union sentiment will affect their lot in life. They see Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, and wonder openly if they are next. They are. And you know it. And you know the problem is not them. The trouble our educators, our public service folks, our protectors have, is the ability to benefit from their service. Teachers that truly teach should be rewarded. Police and firemen that are trustworthy and truly protectors are stressed because the tax bases of their communities are falling apart. And we pretend we don't know why? Is it that easy to believe the union parasites that feed off our public servant's efforts are in it for the good of those public servants? When teacher's benefit packages cost half again the amount the same package would be from BCBS, you should be asking why. When a teacher who is conservative looks to a newly elected (presumably conservative) Republican majority, he should have no doubts that help is on the way. That he or she can count on perhaps a little assistance in being able to chart his or her own course. When the industries that make up the tax base in so many communities move away or fail because they cannot compete in our environment, safety becomes the casualty. It doesn't have to be that way, and there is a cure. And it begins with Right-To-Work Mr Richardville.
Be a hero Randy.
There is no question that some will be concerned about losing the collective bargaining pressures. Of course they will. However, freeing up the true entrepreneurial minds in the environments that have NEVER had the opportunity to benefit from them, would change our state, and offer solutions as yet unseen. Look, there are a couple dozen pieces of legislation that have as a part of them the ability for financial managers to dissolve collective bargaining agreements. Why? Because the inability for the local governments to work around those forced conditions requires the limitations to be removed. Imagine then, how it is for the truly captive union members who are only participating because they want their jobs. You pulled together a coalition to become that leader of the senate. The majority leader is a position of great power, and greater responsibility. Whether you see it or not, (I know you do) we are in the midst of a crisis. There are enough senate members, who are willing to step up and put right-to-work legislation forward. In the house, they would eagerly take the cue and work fast enough to get something in front of the governor in a statutorily minimum time frame. It would pass quickly and with popular support. I was concerned you may allow this type of legislation to languish and did not originally support your majority leader position for that reason alone. However, I applauded YOU, Randy Richardville as a champion who understood well enough the danger of government intrusion into business, that you would vote against the politically correct position of a smoking ban. You get it. Good. The government intrusion into the nature of business by labor is something far more insidious. I know you get that too. When we as workers cannot negotiate for our own selves, we lose something closer to home than the operational enterprising of a workplace, we lose the right to create, build, and be entrepreneurial without permission from some entity either government or that which usurps power through the HAMMER of government. Take it further sir. Let your fellow legislators know you will pass through right-to-work legislation and stand up for those who have so much more to offer our state. For those who are the real salvation to the problems we have in this great state. Help them remove the shackles. And God Bless.
