Eastern Michigan University: Endorse Homosexual Lifestyle or NO SOUP FOR YOU!

    This sais it for me:

This is another unbelievable story coming out of academia. Being of academia, I see kookiness now and again, but nothing like this. Moreover, there hasn't been a boo or a peep about this in the local MSM. Gee - I wonder why? Maybe the MSM is busy trying to paint the entire populace as a bunch of homophobes? (Media Homophobic Entrapment Fails (Epically)) I had to find this story at the WND: University to student: Endorse being 'gay' or leave. Talk about an offer you can't refuse, ala The Godfather. What happened to that whole "tolerance" thing? Diversity? Anyway, here's the gist:

A lawsuit has been filed against Eastern Michigan University, accusing the school of tossing a student out of a graduate counseling program because she refused to endorse homosexuality as morally good.

Julea Ward filed suit after she was dismissed from the school's counseling training for not affirming homosexuality and then refusing to recant her beliefs in "disciplinary proceedings," according to the Alliance Defense Fund Center for Academic Freedom.

David French, senior counsel for the ADF, said, "When a public university has a prerequisite of affirming homosexual behavior as morally good in order to obtain a degree, the school is stepping over the legal line."

Gee - ya think? Talk about bald-faced indoctrination! This part was particularly disturbing:
The student was targeted by the school's disciplinary process as a result of her decision, and she was "informed that the only way she could stay in the graduate school counseling program would be if she agreed to undergo a 'remediation' program ... to see the 'error of her ways,'" ADF said.
Yikes! So I ask again - "What the hell is going on around here?!?" How has this happened to such a great institution? Many faculty from OU went to the Eastern Michigan University campus not long ago to stand by their colleagues as they faced some bargaining problems down there (it's a pretty short drive from OU - about 45 minutes in all). Is EMU modeling it's equality policies after the E.U? Where is the Detroit News? The Free Press? Can you imagine the outrage if a homosexual student were to be required to affirm being straight as the moral thing to do? The indignation and gnashing of teeth would be legendary! Alas, crickets chirping over here in the band of the hand...

Pretty soon these purveyors of political correctness might just mandate homosexuality for everyone.

I think, that is where it is heading, so we need to take a stand and fight it now before it gets to that point!!!

This is really no surprise. (none / 0) (#5)

This is the school that allowed a murderer like Orange Taylor to roam its housing facilities until he killed. This is the school that uses tuition funds and public monies to build a mansion for its president.

My daughter just graduated from there and I'm glad she's done. She often related stories to us about the liberal goings on at EMU, the constant pressure from "professors" and peers to conform to their liberal views. She's pretty tough and stood up to them and took a lot of grief for her views.

EMU has become a UM and MSU wannabe school.

...because this is the same university that changed their nickname from "Hurons" to "Eagles" a few years back because someone thought it offensive to aboriginal americans.  Although at the time there were no calls from those tribes for the name to be changed.

My sister, brother, and brother-in-law went to that school, and I'm glad they all got out of there before it got this bad.

If you are a non-believer or atheist, you may not see how perverse this issue really is.

However most People with faith, WILL see this as much more than mind control, brainwashing, indoctrination, or trying to police thought.

While many Americans today may be celebrating the Passover, or the Last Supper of Christ. And regardless of the fact that over 70% of Americans claim to be Christians.

The EMU makes it clear that to get a degree (that you paid for), you must DENY and REJECT your GOD. And bow down to your new Lord. (the homosexual agenda).

This goes beyond a new level of religious persecution,
This is Satanic! And it can't go unopposed and become standard operating procedure, across the land.

If your mother were bleeding to death, and the doctor refused to order a blood transfusion on the grounds that he was a Jehovah's witness, would you have a problem with that? Do you suppose that if a medical student said that she would treat pneumonia by bleeding with leeches, not with antibiotics, because it was in keeping with her religious beliefs, she should be given a medical degree? This woman is prepared to base her treatment of homosexuals on (her CHOSEN belief in) ancient superstition, rather than standard-of-care scientific conclusions. Clearly, she has her choices to make, and clearly, her graduation should depend on it.
