    Misdirection in politics... (none / 0) (#1)

...is the name of the game.

Republicans claim to be for lower taxes, yet once elected, turn around and act like democrats by imposing new ones.

Republicans claim that we are a nation of laws, yet will turn around and make "exemptions" in the form of amnesty and special carve outs for themselves.

Republicans claim to be for smaller, less intrusive (and non-Constitutionally authorized) government, yet behind closed doors support a system that will make the most hardened progressive smile with satisfaction because it is what they would have done (albeit much quicker), if their roles were reversed.

Yes, according to Civics 101, all appropriations are to start in the House.

But, with the milksops running that chamber and having the audacity to think of themselves as "conservatives", I'm not holding out very much hope of them a.) actually approving this, and b.) sticking to their stated principles after the media firestorm highlighting the plight of the takers who are dependent on government largesse for their daily existence.
