Jesuits don't mess around when it comes to practicing the faith.

From the little I've been able to gather from what I've been about to read on the road and listen on the radio, Pope Francis didn't want the job now, nor the last time around.

This makes him an excellent choice to get things done in my book!

Unfortunately, The Catholic Church has had the opportunity to deny Communion for wayward politicians for years now (if memory serves, there was talk about it being used against Granholm), only to back away from it at the last minute.

The question here is: Will they actually follow church teachings, especially if the word comes from the Holy Father himself?

    ...something?

Vice President Joseph R. Biden and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi both received Communion during the Mass to celebrate the installation of Pope Francis in spite of their pro-choice position on abortion.

The vice president's office confirmed Tuesday night that both he and Mrs. Pelosi took Communion during the Mass at St. Peter's Square in Rome.

Some Catholics argue that politicians whose positions on abortion and contraception conflict with church teachings should not receive communion.
