Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    Question (none / 0) (#3)
by Corinthian Scales on Sun Mar 04, 2012 at 01:07:52 PM EST
Did you happen to bump your campuscrat indoctrinated little head when posting this morning?  So, in your world it is far more reasonable to destroy the finest healthcare system in the world using the Democratic Party concept to save us from "the poor" and in alleged attempt to prevent ne'er-do-wells from gaming the system with snaring a scapegoat minuscule number of legal citizens is somewhat a justifiable means to that end for reasons of cost control.

Guess what bucko, Elder Jihad-Mitts' federal subsidized individual mandate Obamneycare mAssachusetts is an abject failure.

Because it was politically intolerable to allow premiums to rise in line with the costs of Romneycare, the state's insurance commissioner denied 235 of 276 rate increase requests in April 2010. For a short time, no new policies were offered, and plans suffered significant losses. The next month, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the state's largest carrier, announced a $55 million provision for anticipated losses in the second quarter alone.

Of the 12 largest carriers, five were already operating at a loss. At this point, even if the state allows Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts to increase rates in line with medical costs, my analysis concludes the carrier will become insolvent in the vicinity of 2017. Other carriers will soon follow.

Five years after Romney signed his law to great fanfare, the people of the Bay State are beginning to recognize that more government control over health care in the name of universal coverage costs more than advertised.

An April poll conducted by Suffolk University and Boston's WHDH-TV reported that 49 percent of respondents do not believe Romneycare has helped, while only 38 percent believe it is working. And 54 percent said Romney's signing of the law likely hurt his presidential chances, while only 22 percent believed it helped.

This is a dramatic shift from a July 2008 poll, conducted two years after the law was signed, which showed 69 percent favoring the law and only 22 percent opposed.

It's now apparent Romney did not give Massachusetts universal private health coverage. Instead, he put the state on a glide-path to a single-payer, government monopoly health system--the same path Obamacare now follows at the national level.

And a gifted Republican Majority in Lansing is going to pile on yet another mandate for 0.15% of the states population driving up insurance costs for  e v e r y o n e.

Look Newt, err Nate, besides the obvious fact that opposing the individual mandate protects this document from being shredded any further, there most certainly are ways to make healthcare accessible to all at far more reasonable cost.  And I'm not talking about bullsh!t Progressive Bloomberg mentality expenditures like PURE Michigan FIT (whatever the hell that is) or invasive nanny state children BMI reporting as unsubstantiated "cost reduction" measures promoted by the Snynerd Ann Arbor Eloi elite.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that with every government intrusion into areas beyond its scope that costs go up.

But, by your stated matrix, if you care to tackle what you believe to be folks driving up cost in emergency rooms I strongly suggest that you start writing in your campus paper about House Bills 4024 and 4026.  There's just one $929,000,000 per year taxpayer subsidy that steals from folks wanting the ability/option to purchase healthcare insurance.  It is my priority to spend $345/month for healthcare insurance as necessity before looking to the latest fade or electronic gimmickry to squander a global wealth redistributing shrinking disposable income on frivolity and it p!sses me off that I'm subsidizing illegal aliens emergency room visits and paying for their damn anchor baby deliveries.

But, it's just not the illegal aliens, as there are plenty of natural born parasites in this state on the dole puking out kids who, with indignation, fully expect that others pay for their choices, because hey, it's only gummint money.

"Johnson and Witt said they want to marry eventually, but Witt said she wants her marriage date to be her choice.

"I don't think anybody should tell me when to get married," said Witt. "I would like to have a nice wedding, and I can wait for it."

    ....

"Losing just $10 hurts us," said Johnson, who makes $8 an hour at a Grand Blanc-area nursery. "We don't have a car, we don't even have an oven."

Don't have an oven, but another is in the oven?  Yup.  Morally and/or ethically bankrupt unwed White trash adding another to their Medicaid subsidized brood.  Yes, White trash... and I have, and always will, refer to that as White trash as long as that plundering chosen lifestyle is a burden to myself and others through means of a coercive government force.  It's all learned behavior through the advent of "safety nets" that have transcend into a politicians entitlement capital for expediency of their constituents votes with the elected class creation of taxpayer funded government hammocks.  Ask not what you can do for yourself, ask what your government can do for you.  Indentured society.  A return to serfdom.  It's what keeps both Party's Progressive Big Government ruling class elected to their federal, state and local Offices.

    A not so subtle reminder.

This comment will not be leaving my mind anytime soon.

If we don't have a moral society than does the budget really matter?

Joseph Stalin; "America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: it's patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."

‎"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty"

    Indeed.
