    Time wil tell... (none / 0) (#12)

However, I remain cautiously optimistic of this 112th Congress.  Yes, I do truly want to believe in Speaker Boehner, who stated, "Welcome to the Peoples House".

Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, yesterday the 112th Congress had a "Joe Wilson" moment during the reading of our Constitution.

When Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) read a part of Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution mandating that only a "natural-born citizen" may be president, a woman, seated in the front row of the public gallery, screamed "Except Obama, except Obama. Help us Jesus."

As it turned out, and it may have been rude of Representative Wilson in the manner and time he expressed his opinion, but bottom line is, Joe was right.

Now, I am in no way even close to being considered a "birther" by definition, but, I do remain skeptical on this matter due to the ongoing stonewalling and secrecy surrounding the legitimacy of a presidency.  Skepticism or, in the words of Ronald Reagan, "Trust, but verify", there is nothing intrinsically wrong with being just that.  Skeptical.

However, with Speaker Boehner's interview on NBC, his whimsical opine raises my skepticism of how this 112th Congress will actually differ from any other.

"The state of Hawaii has said that President Obama was born there," Boehner said. "That's good enough for me."

Really?  I'm sorry, but that just isn't good enough for me.  Nor is that good enough for the 82,890,000 Americans that remain skeptical.

Why not really return Back to the Basics, starting with validity...
