    You nailed it regarding Gov. Palin.  She was smeared from the beginning.  The media came down on her like a ton of bricks. The acted fast to neutralize her energizing effect on the Republican base.  That is a serious problem for us.  How do we combat the news media that refuses to give us positive press coverage (or VERY little).  They have succeed in tarnishing the GOP "brand" over the last 10-20 years.  It will be a daunting task to reclaim a positive image of the Party in people's minds.
