"I can't give the victory to Nancy Pelosi"

    Remember this?

That was essentially the rationalization we got yesterday. And we still don't know a fraction of what was in that monstrosity.

OABTW, if anyone is interested; the next MEDEFCO meeting is on January 27, 2015 at the Bruce VFW Post, St. Clair Shores at 7:00pm with guest speaker Kerry Bentivolio.

    Mark your calendars.

I'm sure that it will be an interesting evening.

Well, there's a little part of it for you, KG.

Man, getting 82 hours per week... think of all that money coming your way.

Since I get paid by miles and not hours, so I'm not exactly gonna be on Millionaires Row anytime soon. Especially since the FMCSA refused to touch the issue of shipper/receiver detention time.

I am happy with the scrapping of the 34-hour rule restart which the previous big-brain in Transportation jammed through without any rationale.

But when I contrast that to the whopping massive amount of debt Boehner, Bentivolio, et al effectively dumped on the next generation, it easily outweighs any positives in the CRomnibus.

My conscience is clear in my 1st CD vote! I knew he would do this.

A little behind the scenes article from Brandon Hall yesterday provides us with a little perspective on this matter, and also shows us why a good man is so thoroughly disgusted with Michigan Republican politics that he wants nothing more to do with all of this. Make no mistake, both the establishment and the insurgency share in sidelining Sergeant Bentivolio, but that wasn't why he ultimately flipped his vote. And note that he actually voted "nay" on the bill itself.

What a bunch of weak sauce. We've been through this exercise SO many times before - allow the vote to happen, and just enough Team D votes magically appear. Poof! PFM!

I know, I know... obviously still way over some folks heads.

Buh-bye, pensions because Boehner's boys gotta pass the bill to find out what is in the bill. So, congratulations on that "yea" rules vote.

Better yet, why beat a dead horse? Kerry B, thank you for you're service. Congratulation on that "nay" vote. Also, a BIG thank you for being resolute about staying the Hell away from politics.
