Is the media finally acknowledging something (without actually coming flat-out and saying it)?

So over the weekend, I’m catching up on some odds and ends like chores around the house, reading several websites and more than few e-mails.

Guess which order I tackled that list in?

Some of them I would categorize as the social ones with jokes and “gotta see this” images &video. Some of them asking me for my $0.02 on goings on. But one of them that stood out was a little bit of both.

A friend of mine sent me a link to President Trump’s Twitter feed where he posted a video of himself clotheslining “CNN”.

If you haven’t seen it yet, all it was, was a quickly done re-edit from Wrestlemania 23’s “The Battle of the Billionaires” which featured a pre-President Trump at the top of the card.

It was a short clip where, after the various “interferences” leading up to it, Trump clotheslines & pummels “CNN” in typical professional wrestling fashion and then just simply walks away.

I smiled, took it for what it was, replied to my friend and went about the rest of my day.

What surprised me, though, was how often I would come across that very same clip again and again, and again, and again…

Apparently, that Tweet hit a little too close to the mark for what passes for an objective media in this country today.

Just about every site that I read this weekend had someone denouncing the brutal “violence” demonstrated by our President.

The same media that yawned when people spoke of blowing up the White House, asking when was the last time an actor assassinated the President or walking around with an ISIS-inspired severed head (just what are we paying the Secret Service for, anyway), but when you repost a badly done internet video done by someone else, suddenly all hell breaks loose condemning the violence.

And then something occurred to me.

We’re talking about a wrestling match here.

Even though it isn’t exactly “fake” (I still can cite several wrestlers who were killed or seriously injured in the ring), IT IS scripted and the outcomes are per-determined.

And a media that has gone from reporting the news, to deciding what is worth reporting, just got zinged by a President who shows them getting taken down in that very same environment.

It’s no wonder they got so ticked off!

Look, most people reading this (and a few of the higher-end models lurking around here from the other side), know that this story is being portrayed to be far more than it actually is.

Politicians and the media have been having at one another for years now.

Nothing, not even their faux outrage displayed over the weekend, will ever change that.

So, as I see it the media has two very clear choices; Grow a spine (doing their jobs wouldn’t hurt, either), or find a safe space well-stocked with coloring books, Play-Doh and puppies to tide them over for the rest of President Trump’s term.

Because things will not be getting any easier for them in the foreseeable future.

NBC is next! Taking down for the Count. Media may have a Press pass in the Constitution but they do not have a pass on propaganda feeding as truth. Integrity goes with a press pass. No integrity, no press pass.
