Hey, Gov. Snyder? Sen. Meekhof? You do not need to abandon your republican principles any longer.

Rich Studley: "Lawmakers who think the condition of Michigan's roads can be improved with "fairy dust or wishful thinking or Monopoly money," rather than through raising new revenues, should be held accountable for taking that position,

Richard StudleyI couldn’t agree with you more, Richard.

Michigan Motorists need not worry about Michigan Roads. Rich Studley and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce have got this one covered.

While three out of the four “Quadrant Leaders” are working on a way to pick your pocket, steal your hard-earned money, locate funding for Michigan Roads that hasn’t been spoken for by some other special interest, the local papers are trying to fill space on a slow news day like today by asking the Peanut Gallery for their take on the Legislature Road Plan (so far).

They haven’t disappointed.

Quoted in today’s Freep, Michigan Chamber President & CEO chimed in by saying:

Lawmakers who think the condition of Michigan’s roads can be improved with “fairy dust or wishful thinking or Monopoly money,” rather than through raising new revenues, should be held accountable for taking that position.

Do you know what, Richard?

I think that you are exactly right.

So, since you are of the school of thought that more money is even necessary, why not show us some of those business chops you’ve got there and lead by example?

The democrats in the Michigan House have proposed a whopping new tax (no not that “Birthday tax” nonsense), on Michigan Businesses to the tune of over half a billion dollars.

Let’s see what you and those you represent at the Michigan Chamber are ready, willing and able to do?

Go ahead. We’re waiting…

I whole-heartedly agree that, for the most part, this issue could have (more importantly SHOULD have) been settled months ago had Lansing "republicans" followed what they purportedly stood for..

The fact that Studley is now apparently more willing to double-down and turn up the pressure is not.

That been said, we should oblige him since he is now being very generous with the labor of others.

What's good for the goose and that sort of thing...

Now, Dick Stubley is a supporter of "being very generous" with other people's money? Where the hell have you been?

Seriously, theft is theft, and zero accountability. That is what all CoC's do.

And staying Prez & CEO requires knowing full well when to keep your big trap shut.

He should know that taking a more vocal role on this issue at that time will attract some unwanted attention that has the capability of biting him (more specifically, the businesses his organization represents) on the backside down the line.

THIS is still an option, something that is already on MICoC's radar
