About That Gay ‘Marriage’ thing

First of all, people can want to their hearts desire.

There are certain truisms however.  Diamonds are sparkly, fish swim in the sea, electricity allows us to interact in this way, and “Marriage,” is between a man and a woman.

Call it what you want, “pairing,” “Coupling,” “Partnering,” etc.. but its not marriage unless its between a man and a woman. And to be clear, it is NOT a civil right.

On the old blog, Kevin Heine posted a great article on a recent manufactured issue within the Michigan Republican Party.  At the end of it he posted a video that is well worth the watch.

Yeah.

And those of you who are in the GOP pandering to the camel’s nose under the “big tent” might reconsider your ‘liberty’ stance. If you support such things as ‘gay marriage’, you should pay attention to what is happening in other communities. In Oregon, the state does not yet recognize the term as legitimate, yet governments are already ruling against the freedom of association and the 1st amendment business owners would normally enjoy.

in a politically correct world, the cost of running a business is a lot more than dollars and cents. For Aaron and Melissa Klein, the owners of a small Oregon bakery, the price is their First Amendment rights. Their dream of opening a dessert shop near Portland, Ore., turned into a nightmare when two lesbians refused to take no for an answer on their request for a same-sex wedding cake.

Exactly one year ago, the Kleins explained they couldn’t take the order because it would violate their faith to participate in a same-sex marriage ceremony. Furious, the women filed a complaint with the state. The story made national headlines, as the young couple became another face in the war on religious liberty…

Now, 12 months later, the state of Oregon is weighing in—and not on the side of free speech and free exercise. Investigators from the state Bureau of Labor and Industries ruled late last week that the couple was guilty of discrimination and ordered the Kleins to settle. If they refuse, the bureau threatens to bring formal charges.

How wonderful.

And for those of you who who insist they will have their day in court, ask yourselves WHY they should have to endure such intrusions into their natural rights to accommodate what that state does not even see as a “civil right.”

Even now, Michigan homosexual activists are seeking a supreme court overturn of Michigan’s Constitutional Marriage Protection, using none other than the momentum established by Michigan Republicans carrying the left’s ‘holy’ water.  First however, they must put in place an amendment to Michigan’s Elliot-Larsen civil rights act:

Some Michigan cities have passed ordinances that expressly prohibit discrimination, but gay rights advocates support an amendment to the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act that would add equal rights for LGBT Michiganders to a law that already prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion, race, age, sex, height, weight, family status or marital status.

Which sets the stage for what was explained in the video above.

While conservatives fight to regain decades of lost ground within the Michigan Republican party, the double humped beast has been forgoing a simple look into the shelter, and instead carrying off the entire tent on its back.
