Theresa Antoinette Proclaims “Let Oakland County GOP Delegates Eat Cake!”

There is much to be excited about in today’s Republican Party. Enthusiasm is at a fever pitch. There is an influx of new supporters into the movement. Records were shattered for participation during the March primary election, with the majority of the new people coming into the Republican fold. It’s truly miraculous how many new people are active and interested in the cause!

At this point, common sense would seem to indicate that we should build the delegate base, and create a stronger, more invigorated Republican Party that is built for victory to take the country back in November. It is time to strike while the iron is hot, and make the most of the momentum building in our favor. That is how we can take full advantage of this enthusiasm to secure victory when it counts. That is exactly what the Michigan Conservative Coalition called for back in February, and for good reason.

However, Oakland County GOP Dictatress Theresa Mungioli has other plans for her little fiefdom.

Under the iron-fisted rule of Ms. Mungioli, a stunning 503 positions were cut from the precinct delegate roster in Oakland County for the upcoming 2016 cycle last week. This came after no deliberation from the executive committee. Ms. Mungioli showed no consideration for the duly-elected members of the executive committee that she is meant to represent. The delegates were cut by unilateral, dictatorial fiat. It is the GOP equivalent of Obama issuing an executive order to get around the checks and balances of Congress.

Apparently, for some strange reason, Ms. Mungioli does not want to assist the GOP renaissance that is underway. She clearly does not want to foster the Republican resurgence. Instead, she wants to protect the sanctity of her vaunted Good Ol’ Boys club. Because after all, it doesn’t matter if the Republicans surrenders the country to the Democrats yet again in 2016. What really matters is keeping the party under her thumb and making sure that her establishment cronies have their special interests protected.

But pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Everything is on the up and up because Ms. Mungioli says so. It was a logical maneuver based on low delegate counts, she says. Delegate counts were indeed depressed in the local party under her stewardship. It is true that many duly elected delegates did not want to show up to a Mungioli-led affair. And who can blame them? They got sick of their rights being tread upon by tyrants and crooks every time. So what is the Mungioli solution to this problem? Disenfranchise the people who actually still want to get involved!

To demonstrate that this is no mere isolated incident, let’s put Ms. Mungioli’s leadership record under the microscope. She has developed an extensive “rap sheet” in less than two years on the job as Oakland County Republican Party Chair. Among the finer moments are:

  • The arbitrary cancellation of scheduled OCRP meetings, and repeatedly ignoring the advance pressing business advanced by delegates.
  • Ending an OCRP Executive Committee meeting that was in process, without a proper motion to adjourn, while business was still being conducted.
  • That same OCRP Executive Meeting ended–infamously—with Ms. Mungioli ordering the that the microphone be cut off as an elected Executive Committee member who held the floor to speak was addressing a lawful motion before the body.
  • Using the official OCRP email account to attack other duly elected Republican Executive Committee members. This was the first time such a misuse of OCRP assets was used in this manner in the organization’s history.
  • Threats of legal action of a specious merit were levied against a duly elected member of the OCRP Executive Committee.
  • As OCRP Chair, Ms. Mungioli supported an open primary system which allows Democrats to vote in a GOP Presidential primary. She was instrumental in writing the rules allowing this to occur when she served as Chair of the Policy Committee of the Michigan Republican Party. Republicans need to ask themselves the following question: Why does Ms. Mungioli want Democrats involved in the process while Republicans sit on the sidelines?
  • It is not a secret that Ms. Mungioli is married to a Democrat who just a few years ago represented that statist party as a duly-elected Precinct Delegate. After years of kicking dirt on grassroots conservatives while empowering Democrats to decide Republican elections, it becomes obvious that Ms. Mungioli leans her husband’s way politically more than she wants to let on….

In another tone deaf display of incoherent leadership, Ms. Mungioli had the nerve to send out notices to the party faithful encouraging them to recruit more precinct delegate candidates immediately after she axed nearly a third of the delegate openings. Why would anyone want to recruit delegates when it means that they could very easily be shoved out of the party by bringing them in? What kind of incentive does that give the elected delegates to build the party? These bizarre mixed messages show that Ms. Mungioli is a fish out of water right now.

The only good news about this mess is that it is likely her swan song. Because there is no way Ms. Mungioli can spin this as anything but what it is: open disenfranchisement of Republicans. This is a brazen middle finger to all the people she is meant to be representing. It can be interpreted in no other way, and it is happening around the state in a coordinated fashion. You don’t have to be the guy with the magnifying glass to figure this one out. It is plain as day.

The mask has been ripped off for all to see. The GOP establishment already has their operatives on social media and elsewhere muddying the waters. But these self-motivated actors have never looked more foolhardy than they have right now because they are defending the undefendable. It has never been easier to determine who actually has a backbone, and who will tolerate ANYTHING from leadership because they have either sold out or been beaten down like dogs.

It is Ms. Mungioli’s own divisive, unhinged behavior that has created this fiasco. She can evade responsibility all she wants, but the buck ultimately stops with her. Her record of leadership speaks for itself. Her colossal failure is evident. Throwing out 500+ potential dedicated volunteers from the party fold is the icing on the cake. And we wonder why the GOP keeps losing big elections over and over again? It is because of morally and ethically bankrupt leaders like Mungioli why this is the case.

But Ms. Mungioli and her buddies in the cabal can play these pathetic games all they want. They can try to worm out of their fate, but it is a losing proposition for them. Like Marie Antoinette after she uttered those famous words ‘Let them eat cake’, their fate has already been sealed. Theresa has had her Marie Antoinette moment with the delegate slaughter. Now, I just hope that she will relinquish her fleeting power with some grace and dignity. But I won’t be counting on it.

While I understand that this is a decision that seems logical since most were empty slots... it is still a numbers game. Since 20% of the people do 80% of the work... it is naive to think that recruiting less numbers will produce more committed delegates. Every organization needs more people... to message to and coax to action; so it is far too short-sighted to reduce people that don't "cost" you anything. Continue to have as many options and build the largest organization. There will always be those few that are doers and the majority who don't contribute. Yet... from many you find... More. More followers, workers and people who are on the journey to getting involved. And only when an organization is progressing will it prosper. The GOP continues to show both legislatively and to the people... that they don't care about participation nor inclusion. Republicrat's are only interested in the chosen few.

If anything similar (and I'm not arguing that it hasn't) is happening elsewhere across the state as proposed..where else is it being reported and what impact level has it had on statewide delegate relations with...who(?)..inside each individual party? If there is a civil war in full swing across the state in each GOP district over ????..we're sure as heck not hearing about it in real time let alone quantifying same for anything resembling debate in an election year.

It is always (seemingly) the same story with political delegates complaining that they are 'under fire' (continually) as they seek to "change the party" from within towering castle walls:
Hint:...go to the gate..'unlock' it..and simply let those seeking to storm the walls 'in' (we'll handle the rest).

In 2012 I attended the Ron Paul rally at the Sun Dome on the University of SouthFlorida State University campus. I sat in the balcony with a panoramic view of the facility. I was sixty-nine years old. I felt like an alien. As I looked out over the 10 or 11 thousand heads surrounding me, snow capped peaks like mine were few and far between. The audience had to be 90% college or college aged people with a smattering of slightly older people.

You all know what happened at the convention, Romney told them all to go to hell. They weren't needed or wanted. How wrong he was. Ron Paul had filled stadiums during the primaries and the three piece suited, Gucci loafered, slick sloganeering, pious platitude spouting Romney couldn't fill a bathtub. Ron Paul had even beaten Obama in the early polling. I don't recall Romney ever doing so.

Romney represents all that is wrong with the Republican Party -- the Establishment's contrived status quo in the party. 2016 will be a rebirth of the values of the Republic in the "Republican" Party or the party will go the way of the Whigs.

So...in your utopian world of Republican Party takeover, how exactly do you plan on keeping the "establishment" people involved after you repeatedly bash their "leader"? I don't see you knocking doors, volunteering at OCRP, or doing pretty much anything constructive...

    Stop CRYING start HELPING!

NC...perhaps it would be easier figure out who supports periodic delegate 'cleansing' (to the tune of 503 'traitors') as your OCRP leader evidently believes...before you start wondering exactly how those 'agreeing' with her will stay involved by kicking out the next 500 'unwashed' (or more)..

"You Libertarians Are At The Wrong Meeting" - OCRP Hack, circa 2012 at County Convention when it became obvious that the Michigan for Ron Paul team had recruited, trained, and organized a highly motivated door knocking, phone call making group of activist volunteers.

The traitors who sold our country down the river can jump off a building after they are disposed, for all I care. The party will be better off without them. It's past time for some house cleaning, as far as I'm concerned.

And if you ever think I will do the bidding of your RINO masters, you got another thing coming. Put that in your 'constructive' pipe and smoke it, sweetheart

You got that right, kid. You see, it's the many dickheads like NC, a cuck, out there who it never dawns upon them that if their brand didn't suck ass so much they wouldn't need to be out knocking on folks doors, which the unsolicited intrusion usually serves to piss them off, anyway. Doubt that? Knock at my door.

You're doing this right. This is insurgency. Stand-to.

Cucked NC types can go piss up a rope.

There is absolutely no hope for the people of the US. Electronics control everything while the 'elitists' loll in their Swiss mansions while we stumble and fumble with what we THINK is reality. Learn to toady because that is what WILL occur after the election!

Interesting. Well written Shane. If this move, that Mrs. Mungioli promised she "would not" take a month or so ago, was actually done because of "empty precinct delegate slots," it would seem most equitable that the party leadership would have looked at the number of volunteers who ran in each precinct in 2014 and matched the number of people interested to the number of slots available. In my precinct, there were 5 people who wanted to become precinct delegates and only 4 slots. But, rather than increasing the number of slots to accomodate the people who wanted to become delegates in my precinct, party leadership chose to eliminate one of the slots giving 5 people only 3 slots. THAT is the type of establishment foolishness and skullduggery that causes good conservative dedicated activists to work to takeover the leadership of the party. I am very pleased to report that when supposed leaders show their gnarled fangs, it makes it all the easier to oust a wolf in sheep's skin out of the leadership position that never should have been turned over to the wolf in the first place.

      Janice,
There are rules that govern how many PD's can be added or subtracted based on voter density.
You cannot move open seats from one prescient to another. You need to go to the County to get that changed.

Truth is the enemy of deception. I can attest to the veracity of Mr. Trejo's 7 bullet point assertions. As a delegate member of the OCRP Executive Committee, I witnessed all firsthand. Furthermore, for the Chair to shrink participation in the Party is counterproductive and makes no sense. Such political shenanigans will not bode well for the Party. What good are principles if they are not practiced?

For far too long, career politicians representing no one but themselves have had free reign of of this state, and it's time that the good men and women of Michigan stand up and fight for the liberty we've lost through complacency! RINOs need to be opposed at every opportunity, without a sliver of liberty being handed to them without a fight! Every office we win is a step towards returning us to our founding principles, and as such, I've decided to run for county commissioner in Oakland's 5th district. I encourage every liberty-minded Republican to run for office, but if they can't, it's imperative they pledge their support to those who are... We can't do it without your help! If you think it's time to make a stand, I'd love your support. Reach me at philtrzos@hotmail.com.

Dems and Reps have been crossing over for years. Engler used it to get Feiger nominated so he could stomp him out in the general election.
    How did you miss that?
