Virginia Gun Grab

When in the course of human events...

This is America’s canary in the mineshaft…

Leave it to the Democrats to play on both sides of the fence at the same time. While attempting to misuse the Constitution to their advantage by fabricating impeachment articles against a President they do not believe was legally elected under its rules, they are demonstrating in Virginia the very purpose of the 2nd Amendment to it.

In case you missed it, the state government of Virginia is now totally controlled by the Democrats, courtesy of nearly $3 million in campaign donations to them by….Presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg. Mr. Bloomberg also provided them with some legislation he wants them to pass of course, to include gun confiscation. The Democrats have suggested the Governor use the Virginia National Guard to accomplish the task anywhere in the state where compliance may be sketchy.

The legislation also outlaws citizen militias, imagine that…as a “well regulated militia” might pose a problem to enforcement. These people who threaten armed force against their citizens to implement unconstitutional laws are the same people who advocate for open borders and sanctuary cities for illegal aliens. The same people that have spent the last 3 years trying to undo the results of the 2016 election. They do not deserve to be in ANY position of political power, not in America.

January 20th 2020 the new session of the Virginia legislature begins…the call to arms has already gone out over social media…there will be a confrontation. I’m certain Mr. Bloomberg will be watching, I hope the rest of the country watches as well.

Molon Labe, Mr. Bloomberg, and please, come for mine personally…

“These lawmakers, who work for us, U.S. citizens, are threatening to use the military against citizens to enforce gun confiscation and seize our private property.
If allowed, this would set a dangerous precedent across the country.
This action is precisely why the Second Amendment was created. It’s to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government.”

I wasn’t aware that there was a court imposed exemption to a Constitutional Right?

On the plus side, I've just found a sizable down payment for that Michigan Income Tax cut.

Can anyone find an exemption for “sensitive places” in either the Michigan or US Constitutions?

I cannot.

And just who makes the asinine argument for “sensitive places”?

No Powder In This Cannon

Truth be told, THAT gun has probably never been fired.

poachingMichigan is indeed a sportsman’s paradise.

Naturally, the coveted NRA scoring and endorsement will be flaunted by would-be Michigan politicos who want an edge up on their opponents.  In the strange circumstance however, the NRA has been rewarding legislative support for ammo registration in Michigan yet is fighting it in California.

Go figure.

Yes, in Michigan, several legislators are being punished by the NRA scoring process for voting against a package of bills designed to ‘Keep ammo out of the hands of felons.’ Certainly the NRA is acting responsibly, right? Until you carefully think through what it takes to enforce such an act.

Lets consider what the NRA uses as legislative candidate scoring criteria first.

A+: A legislator with not only an excellent voting record on all critical NRA issues, but who has also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.

A: Solidly pro-gun candidate. A candidate who has supported NRA positions on key votes in elective office or a candidate with a demonstrated record of support on Second Amendment issues.

AQ: A pro-gun candidate whose rating is based solely on the candidate’s responses to the NRA-PVF Candidate Questionnaire and who does not have a voting record on Second Amendment issues.

B: A generally pro-gun candidate. However, a “B” candidate may have opposed some pro-gun reform or supported some restrictive legislation in the past.

D: An anti-gun candidate who usually supports restrictive gun control legislation and opposes pro-gun reforms. Regardless of public statements, can usually be counted on to vote wrong on key issues.

Emphasis in bold.

Taxpayers Take Another Swirl Around the Detoilet Bowl

Efficiency of government solutions? Howza ’bout a 22.9% ROI Return On Coercive Theft.

Then, there is this anathema.

Contractors said it was easy for costs to escalate. Often, the worst homes on the block were selected. Some needed expensive foundation repairs, lead and asbestos abatement and new plumbing and electrical systems. And many homes, especially in Boston Edison, are just big, adding to costs for roofing and other materials.

“Wherever we go in the city of Detroit, it has to be subsidized,” said Lisa Johanon, executive director of Central Detroit Christian Community Development Corp., a nonprofit that did two renovations. “It is costly, no doubt about it, but I think we have some stabilized neighborhoods.

“It’s just what it takes right now to get Detroit on its feet.”

Snyder’s *non-bailout* Detoilet Bailout and Lansing Legislator Looter Scorecard

I have to hand it to the folks over at MCC, this is a great vote tracking device.

A bipartisan 10-bill package has been introduced in the Michigan House related to a proposed Detroit bailout. A link to the concise, objective, plain-English MichiganVotes.org descriptions of all 10 bills is here.

It’s worth noting that the grant (or bailout) bills do not require passage of the reform bills to become law. Also, nothing would prohibit a future Legislature from repealing the reform measures, although in practical terms this could get complicated given that a potential federal court bankruptcy settlement may be all wrapped together with the grant and reforms — if they are approved.

REST

Big, big, Thank You shout out to, Mr. McHugh.
