Humor in Michigan

Make us laugh

Why telling it like it is should be a newsworthy event.

Why telling it like it is should be a newsworthy event.

I’ll be honest, the whole kerfuffle regarding the “Confederate Flag” hasn’t drawn very much interest for me because of the following reasons:

One, it’s not directly Michigan-related.

Two, it doesn’t affect me personally or anyone that I know (and I know quite a few people who fall into the category the race-hustlers are trying to round up on their side).

Three, I’m actually amused at the time spent distracting focusing attention away from real issues like disintegrating family structures, a education system whose outcome is criminal, cities which have devolved into war zones, the job situation (just to name a few), which are the direct result of actions taken by democrats (See: Cloward-Piven).

But someone sent me this video, and it…well check it out for yourself regarding one Kid Rock, a do-nothing group of “community organizers” (isn’t that a redundant description), their respective list of accomplishments…and the Confederate Battle Flag.

Yes, the content is “safe for work”.

Michigan Senate Republicans invoke “leadership” strategy gleaned from watching South Park.

Just when you thought that things couldn’t get any stranger?

I bet you’re wondering which strategy that is?

Well, wait no longer (Here’s a hint: We’re at Phase 1)

Mad Max Hits Midland

A new 'terrorism' and whole communities brought to a stop

In a ‘Roundabout’ way.

Watch this instructional traffic video produced for those in Midland who are about to have a circular road feature. Pay attention to the way folks enter and exit, then imagine what would happen if 8 or ten cars just went around a few extra times on a busy day.

Just spin and spin until dizzy.

Imagine that.

That is all.

Frank?

Good for the gooses, good for the Michi-gander ..or something.

falconsWhy does the guy falcon get the normal name?

Why even bother?   A new set of pigeon eaters has apparently been hatched at a government bridge. The government people tagged em so they could keep track and all that.  New AKAs as well:

“In addition to their leg bands, the peregrine chicks received names Tuesday: the females are Jasina, Dwaynette and Q, while the lone male is named Frank.”

I’ll leave it to you all to figure out which one is the gander.

Tesla Motors: Round 2

Slick Rick along with Joe and Marcia Hune stepped in it this time.

The Federal Trade Commission on Monday strongly urged the Michigan state legislature to reconsider its ban on Tesla Motors Inc. and other automakers from directly selling vehicles to owners.

In a 10-page letter to Michigan State Sen. Darwin Booher, R-Evart, three senior FTC staff members urged the state to drop its long-standing bar to automakers selling vehicles directly to consumers, saying “Michigan’s consumers would more fully benefit from a complete repeal of the prohibition on direct sales by all automakers.” The commission voted 5-0 in favor of the comments.

rick-snyder-the-calley-crusherThe letter came after Booher asked the FTC about a pending Michigan Senate bill that would create a limited exception to state law that would allow manufacturers of “autocycles” — enclosed three-wheelers that are more like cars than motorcycles — to sell vehicles in some circumstances. But the FTC said the Senate bill “does not go far enough,” and would “largely perpetuate the current law’s protectionism for independent franchised dealers, to the detriment of Michigan car buyers.”

Booher’s office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. The bill was introduced April 15 and referred to the state Senate economic development committee, which has taken no action.

But, I don’t want everyone to get too down on our Lansingcritter’s moronic displays of legislative prowess. Remember, they went to public schools.

Happy Sinkhole de Oh My’o, Snyder!

Yep. I’m convinced. Proposal 1 is going down in Epic Proportions. 70-30? 65-35? We’ll soon know.

What we already do know is that Rick Snyder pushed this poorly contrived 10-bill abomination unto us at the cost of $10 Million to us taxpayers. Not only that, then Slick Rick went on tour with his cronies who used another $9 Million against us. Let that sink in.

SA_Governors

Let that ^ be a lesson to every governor who dares to attempt to pull this bullshit again.
