Bottom line. From how a rational mind reads Debbie’s brassy statement is not much different than what our state legislators are doing now: throwing more money at a problem without cutting the wasteful ineptness and blatant corruption within MDOT.
"Conceived in Rape" Author Rebecca Kiessling addresses the conferees at the 2015 MiCPAC in Troy.
Finally getting this out of the to-do bin.
A couple of weeks ago, Rebecca was one of the speakers at the 2015 Michigan Conservative Political Action Conference, speaking on ‘messaging.’ Rebecca knows a little about messaging, as she has been using her personal story for several years now to reach those who think that rape is justification for the murder of the unborn.
She advocates a true pro-life stance which recognizes that even ‘in the case of Rape,’ abortion is murder.
Sorry for those brief moments when the audio is overwhelmed by the activity in the other conference room. Lessons have likely been learned for next year’s event.
Its as-if this is the first term for the third term Dr. Dan Benishek
The picture at the right came in this morning
When opening it, I sat for a moment snickering at the sheer audacity of the Benishek re-election team in sending such a message in the fifth year of his ‘service’ to Michigan’s CD1 voters. Suggesting that Dan Benishek would raise a finger to fight for us is a hoot.
“We must raise $5,000 this month to show Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats that we will be ready for the fight ahead in 2016”
Gosh Dan, this is the second session in a row (third starting) where the congress has been held by Republicans. Truly, it is terribly embarrassing that you have not figured out that the opponent is actually in the executive seat. Its been over 4 years Doctor B, and you haven’t yet lived up to a single promise made in 2010 with regard to the ACA, immigration, and a litany of other issues where you actually have some say.
One of the arguments used by conservative supporters of Congressman Fred Upton is that Upton is more conservative now than he used to be. Is there any merit to this argument?
To analyze this claim, we consider ratings issued by conservative groups over the years. This will make it easy to spot any trend.
Of course, the usual caveats apply. These ratings are calculated based on a selection of votes. The votes rated each year are different, but these groups use fairly consistent standards that allow comparison over time.
First up is American Conservative Union (ACU), which has been rating Congress since the 1970s. Their ratings for Upton’s entire tenure are graphed below.
A linear regression line is graphed along with the data. As you can see, the line is virtually flat, indicating no substantial change. There is actually a very slight decrease over time.
Upton’s two best ratings occurred in 2002 and 2010, both of which were years when Upton received serious primary challenges from the right.
Detroit Chamber's Mackinac Policy Conference 2015 Starts Today - You Won't Like The Outcome
Is that a donkey in front of the Grand Hotel?
Later today Michigan’s Self Very Important Persons start checking in at the Detroit Regional Chamber’s 2015 Mackinac Policy Conference held on Mackinac Island. At $ 2,150 per person for Chamber members and $ 2,925 for Chamber wannabees, average Michiganders will not be much in evidence. The attendees list reads like the last itemized contribution report for SafeRoadsYes!, along with the clueless Michigan politicians who endorsed Proposal 1.
The Detroit Regional Chamber’s “Vision and Pillars” for the 2015 Conference is innocuous enough, but the Conference’s agenda is far less oblique. A host of left luminaries and crony capitalists orbiting Michigan government will be plotting higher taxes, bigger spending, and more vexatious regulations. When they are not drinking.
The official agenda is all about Detroit, Michigan schools, alternative business subsidies, and the roads, but there is also the transformation of Detroit Water & Sewerage Department into the Great Lakes Water Authority lurking in the background. Roads are the most interesting part of the official 2015 Conference agenda, given the near universal support for Proposal 1 amongst the attendees. Despite touting ‘vision’, expect the Conference to endorse new taxes over improved efficiencies and better engineering.
Today we reflect on those who stood ready to defend this country, its ideals, and what it has promised for so long.
We give thanks to our maker for giving them to us, and in appreciation pray that they meet Him as will His people in the promise of eternal life through His name Jesus Christ. Our nation, founded upon a Judeo-Christian basis has been the beacon of the world since it’s inception.
We honor our fallen for their loyalty, and honor, faith, and love for a nation that holds the promise of true liberty, and sanctity of family that was given and blessed by God. Throughout times when our nation has struggled with its faith and tradition, those who fought for us and defended us remained steadfast till the time when they moved to a higher place.
Michigan is one of several states used to relocate 'refugees' from the most dangerous and corrupted nations on the earth.
Of course you all knew that.
Michigan is one of the ‘resettlement’ states used by the UN and our state department to implant refugees from the worst areas of the world. Under the auspices of humanitarianism, we are being invaded by people who carry with them the very troubles we are told they are fleeing.
Dave Agema mentions A.L.A.C. in his presentation to Michigan conservatives last Saturday. He has seen this coming and has been working with Kamal Saleem spreading the word around Michigan in the past few years. A.L.A.C. stands for American Laws for American Courts, and simply reaffirms the constitution and state laws, while preventing the very anti American aspects of Sharia from creeping into our justice system.
I was fortunate to attend one of the presentations by Kamal Saleem a couple of years ago.
It has not gotten any better since then.

Conservative Kevin Jackson highlighted the 2015 MiCPAC this past Saturday
Want to have some fun?
We were lucky to have had Kevin Jackson speak to the conferees at the May 16 2015 MiCPAC in Troy. He lived up to the hype with a lively presentation. A heck of a nice guy so articulate that I hardly noticed he was short.
